PROJECT CONTEXT

Notified in December 2014 by the French Direction Générale de l’Armement (DGA), the PLG program aims to ensure the replacement of La Capricieuse and La Gracieuse, two P400-type patrol vessels of 55 meters that  entered service in 1987. Specially designed for French Guyana by Bureau Mauric architects, the PLG are built by Socarenam shipyard in Boulogne-sur-Mer (France).

60 meters long with a width of 9.5 meters and a displacement of 700 tons, La Confiante and La Résolue have a draft of less than 3.2 meters, which will allow them to sail on high seas as well as in the shallow waters of the French Guyana.

With the aim to launch two intervention boats by day as well as by night including in rough sea conditions, ship passive stabilisation is a key point of the operationnal capability of those ships. The choice of SIRE passive stabilising solution by Geps Techno followed a complete technical audit to ensure to the final customer a high level of satisfaction.
